This little Christmas tree craft is pure holiday joy, and it takes just a few simple supplies. Kids get to peel, stick, and decorate their very own tree with bright, colorful “ornaments.” There’s no glue, no paint, and almost no cleanup.
It’s perfect for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Peeling and placing tiny stickers is great for building fine motor skills. Plus, counting the dots on each row sneaks in a little math fun. Whether you’re at home, in the classroom, or running a holiday party, this one is sure to be a hit!

Craft Supplies:
- Construction paper
- Black marker
- Colorful round dot stickers
- Glitter star sticker or foam star
Directions:
Step 1: Draw the Tree Trunk
Turn your construction paper so it’s tall, not wide. Use your marker to draw a straight line down the middle of the page. This is your tree trunk.
Step 2: Add the Branch Lines
Draw horizontal lines across the trunk to make the branches. Start with a short line near the top. Make each new line a little longer than the one above it as you work your way down. When you’re done, the lines will form a triangle tree shape. About six or seven branches works great.
Step 3: Top It With a Star
Every tree needs a star! Place your glitter star sticker or foam star right at the top of the trunk. Let your little one do this part. It’s the moment they’ll be most excited about.
Step 4: Decorate the Branches With Dot “Ornaments”
Now for the best part! Kids peel the dot stickers and line them up along each branch, like twinkling ornaments.
- Row 1: 2 dots
- Row 2: 4 dots
- Row 3: 6 dots
- Row 4: 8 dots
- Row 5: 10 dots
Keep adding 2 more dots on each new row. If the bottom branches run out of room, just fill them up as much as you can. Mix and match colors, or try making patterns like red, green, red, green.
Tip: Count the dots out loud together as you go. It turns decorating into a fun counting game!
Step 5: Admire Your Masterpiece
Step back and enjoy your bright, cheerful Christmas tree! Hang it on the fridge, tape it to a classroom window, or fold it into a homemade holiday card for someone special.
