Apple Stamped Turkey Craft Idea For Thanksgiving

Today’s craft mixes a little paint, a little glitter, and a lot of fun, making it perfect for a rainy afternoon or a Thanksgiving classroom activity. Best of all, the yellow dot stickers do most of the heavy lifting, so even the littlest hands can join in. Let’s make some apple stamped turkeys that everyone will gobble up with delight!

Craft Supplies:

Gather these supplies before you begin so everything is within arm’s reach:

1 apple, cut in half (this becomes your stamp)
Metallic bronze or brown paint
1 paper plate (for holding the paint)
Construction paper or cardstock (a darker background makes the colors pop)
Yellow dot stickers
Markers

Directions:

Pour a small puddle of bronze paint onto your paper plate. Press the flat, cut side of the apple half into the paint until it’s evenly coated. Then firmly stamp it onto your grey paper. Lift straight up to reveal a lovely rounded print with that classic apple shape. Repeat across the page to make as many turkeys as you like!
While the paint is still wet, sprinkle your metallic glitter along the top edge of each stamp. This creates a shimmering fan of tail feathers.
Once the paint is dry, it’s time to build your turkey’s body. Grab your dot stickers and press them right on/under the stamped design. Two simple stickers, and your turkey already has personality!
Now for the fun details. Using your black marker, draw two little eyes. Grab your orange marker and draw a small triangle beak just below the eyes. Finish with your red marker by adding a squiggly line beside the beak for the wattle.
With your brown marker, draw two thin lines extending down from the bottom of the body. Keep them simple, just enough to give your turkey a pair of little feet to stand on.
And that’s it, your apple stamped turkey is ready to strut!
