Craft Supplies:

Gathering your materials is the first step to crafting fun. You likely have most of these items at home already.

  • Free Gift Tag Printable – from our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Colored Cardstock Paper
  • Pencil
  • School Glue
  • Loose Craft Glitter
  • Clear Contact Paper
  • Scissors
  • Gold Pipe Cleaner
  • Single Hole Punch
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • Print the Tags: First, download and print the angel gift tag poem printable onto your cardstock. Use scissors to carefully cut out each individual gift tag along the lines.
  • Make the Handprint Wings & Body: This is the fun part! Help kids trace and cut out TWO handprint cutouts for the angel’s wings. At this point in time you should also cut out a triangle body and circular head for the angel.
  • Decorate: Use markers to draw hair and a face on the circle cutout. At this point in time you should draw lines of school glue on the handprint cutouts and shake loose craft glitter on top.
  • Let it Dry: Set aside the “wings” to let them dry completely. This might take an hour or two, depending on how much paint was used.
  • Laminate for Durability: Once dry, add your poem cutout onto the angel design and laminate between two pieces of contact paper.
  • Cut and Punch: Carefully cut out the handprint design from the paper. Add a hole punch at the top.
  • Make It An Ornament: Thread a pipe cleaner through the hole and bend it to make a halo for the angel. Add any other embellishments you see fit. Then gift away or display proudly!
