Once your “A” is for Angel ornaments are complete, admire them as they bring festive joy to your Christmas tree. These ornaments also make thoughtful gifts for loved ones, bringing a handcrafted touch to the holiday season.

Craft Supplies:

Before you begin, gather these simple supplies, many of which you can find at your local craft store or dollar store (or perhaps already have at home):

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {2 per craft}
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks {1 per craft}
  • Low Temp Hot Glue Gun {adult supervision}
  • School Glue
  • Loose Gold Craft Glitter
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Skin-Tone Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Scissors
  • Markers
  • Gold Pipe Cleaner

Directions:

Follow these step-by-step instructions to make your own angel ornaments. Kids can work alongside adults to ensure safety with scissors and glue guns.

  • First things first – glue your popsicle sticks together to look like an “A.” Two jumbo popsicle sticks on the outside and the mini in the center to create the letter shape {this step can be pre-done if working with a large group on a time crunch!}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now it’s time for the handprint angel wings. Grab your white cardstock paper, along with a drawing utensil and scissors.
  • Trace around both of your hands on the paper.
  • Cut both handprint designs out and discard excess paper.
  • At this point in time you should also trim out a small circle shape, from the remaining piece of skin-tone colored cardstock paper, for the angel’s head. Decorate it with markers to bring it to life.
  • Next up – adding some sparkle to your design. Grab your popsicle stick “A” shape, along with the school glue and loose craft glitter.
  • Draw lines of glue on the popsicle stick shape and sprinkle glitter on top.
  • Shake off excess glitter.
  • To finish off your Popsicle Stick Angel – you are going to hot glue the handprint wings to the back of the decorated piece and the head shape to the front.
  • Finally, cut a gold pipe cleaner in half and pull one of the pieces aside for your craft. Bend it to make a halo shape. Hot glue it to the angel’s head {this will also make it easy to hang it on the tree as an ornament.}
  • Then let it all sit aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!
