Fun and Fluffy Cotton Ball Polar Bear Craft

When the world outside is blanketed in snow and the days grow cold, there’s no better way to warm up than by getting creative indoors. Why not turn a regular winter afternoon into a magical crafting adventure?

With just a few simple supplies and a dash of imagination, you and your kids can make your own adorable cotton ball polar bears! This easy, hands-on activity is sure to spark giggles, encourage creativity, and leave you with a cuddly creation to display all season long!

Craft Supplies:

Gather your supplies and make some fluffy polar bears to celebrate the season!

  • Bear Printable – on our landing page
  • Light Brown Cardstock Paper
  • White Cotton Balls
  • Cardstock Paper {a little bit of white and brown}
  • Craft Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Embellishments/Wiggle Eyes

Directions:

  • First download and print the free bear printable on some light brown cardstock paper.
  • If desired – go ahead and cut out the bear shape from the printable {like we did.} OR you can leave him just as is. This step is totally optional!
  • Now you are ready to start bringing him to life. Squirt some school glue all over the inside of the bear outline.
  • Have children place cotton balls on top of the glue, until the polar bear is filled in.
  • While they are working on that, cut out other polar bear features from cardstock. You will want an oval nose and two half circle ears.
  • To finish off the Cotton Ball White Polar Bear craft, glue the newly made cutout pieces in place on top of the cotton balls, along with some wiggle eyes so he can see.
  • If desired, add other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then display proudly!!!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
