Directions:
This light bulb suncatcher craft is super kid-friendly, but younger children may need help from an adult when using scissors or contact paper.
- First print out the provided FREE light bulb shape that is listed above in the supply list.
- If desired, use crayons to the color in the hanger design in the printable.
- Next up, use your scissors to trim out the design, as well as the center of it.
- Now grab your contact paper and cut two pieces the same length out. You want both pieces to be bigger than the original bulb design.
- Take off the protective paper from one of the contact paper sheets and lay it on a flat surface, with the sticky side up.
- Go ahead and lay your lightbulb cutout in the center of the contact paper sheet.
- Next sprinkle a little bit of glitter inside the design. Spread it around with your fingers.
- Now take small squares of tissue paper and place them inside the cutout, until he is completely filled in.
- When done, grab the remaining piece of contact paper and also remove it’s protective sheet.
- Lay it on top of your decorated design, sticky side down. Make sure every corner is stuck together.
- To finish off the craft, use your scissors to trim out the Christmas light shape.
- Add a single hole punch at the top and thread/bend your pipe cleaner through the hole, to make a hanger.
- Then display your stained glass Christmas light piece proudly on a window or on the tree.
- These suncatchers can also double as decorations for wrapped gifts. Tape them onto the top of a present as a bonus gift for someone special.
