Cat On Tree Branch Craft Idea For Kids

Fall is the perfect time to get creative with your kids, and what better way to do so than with a fun and easy craft project? In this blog post, we’ll show you how to make an adorable “Cat on a Tree Branch” craft that will not only provide hours of entertainment but also help develop your child’s fine motor skills and creativity. Let’s get started!

Craft Supplies:

Before you begin, gather all the necessary materials. Here’s a list of basic supplies you’ll need:

  • Cat Printable – on our fall landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Scissors
  • Gray Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Cardstock Paper {in fall colors}
  • Large Yellow Cupcake Liner
  • Adhesive
  • Star Stickers/Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – grab our free cat printable, listed above in the supply list.
  • Go ahead and find it on your computer, right click and print it out on a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
  • Now that you have the printable, go ahead and color in ONE of the cat designs however you like.
  • When done coloring, trim it out and save the second design to repeat this craft.
  • At this point in time you can also add two googly eyes & a heart nose to the cat cutout as well.
  • Now grab a single sheet of tan or brown cardstock paper and your choice of writing utensil.
  • Pick a hand – any hand will do!
  • Lay it flat on the cardstock paper and trace around the hand & arm. This is the start of the tree branch.
  • When ready, trim out the traced design with your scissors.
  • Next up – grab your glue stick and glue the handprint/arm cutout to your gray cardstock paper. You just want to make sure you leave plenty of room for the cat to sit.
  • Now flatten out your yellow cupcake liner and glue it down for the “moon” in the design.
  • Follow that up by gluing down the cat cutout on the “tree branch.”
  • The last step is to cut out a few small leaves from various colors of cardstock paper and glue those on as well.
  • Now add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then display your black cat on tree branch paper piece proudly for all to admire!

MAKE IT YOUR OWN TODAY: to change it up, go ahead and glue on natural materials such as leaves from outside or perhaps even a small handfuls of twigs
