Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 2 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 1 per craft
  • School Glue
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Mini Squirrel Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Light Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Dark Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Scissors
  • Embellishments {wiggle eyes and glitter glue}

Directions:

  • First grab your THREE popsicle sticks {three per acorn} and glue them together to look like a triangle. This will become the car for the squirrel.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely. Repeat for each acorn car craft you want to make today.
  • Once dry, go ahead and paint the popsicle stick shape completely brown. Set aside again.
  • While those are drying, grab your various sheets of cardstock paper.
  • Out of the dark brown, cut a triangle that will fit inside the popsicle stick design.
  • Out of the light brown, cut out the acorn “cap” or otherwise known as the cupule.
  • Out of the black cardstock paper, cut out two wheels and a small steering wheel.
  • At this time, you should also cut out a colored in squirrel shape from the provided printable.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Acorn Car  – glue the paper pieces in place. The squirrel will go on the back of the painted popsicle stick shape, while the remaining pieces go on the front.
  • Top off with any other embellishments they see fit.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying/playing with proudly!
  • Planning an autumn-themed party? Simply attach a string to the back for easy hanging on doors, windows, and walls.
