Handprint Raccoon Hug Craft Idea For Kids

Creating a handprint raccoon hug is more than just a fun activity; it’s an opportunity to bond, teach, and inspire creativity in your child. With simple materials and easy-to-follow steps, you can help your little one create a memorable piece of art while learning valuable skills.

Craft Supplies:

  • Raccoon Head Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Gray Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Ribbon
  • Googly Eyes
  • Glue
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – print out the provided raccoon printable, on a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
  • Decorate one of the head shapes in the printable, with some crayons.
  • When done, use scissors to trim it out.
  • Next grab your sheet of black cardstock paper and pencil.
  • Trace both of your hands on the paper.
  • Trim out both designs.
  • Now grab the gray cardstock paper. Fold it in half {hamburger style.}
  • Open it back up and cut it straight up the center to create TWO equal pieces.
  • Pull one half aside for today’s craft and save the other for repeating this craft with the remaining head shape.
  • Now grab the ribbon and cut off TWO long pieces.
  • Staple the ribbon and handprint cutouts to each side of the gray cardstock rectangle piece.
  • Follow that up by gluing on the raccoon head on top.
  • To finish off the paper raccoon hug craft, simply add any other embellishments {along with the wiggle eyes} to bring the raccoon to life.
  • Then display as is, pair with story time or gift away to spread some cheer to those you love the most!

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions:
