A delightful, hands-on project that will bring a little chill to those hot, sunny days, this craft is perfect for a summer day spent indoors, or as an interactive part of a family picnic or barbecue.

In this post, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of recreating the cutest decorative snow cone, ensuring that you have all the necessary details to be able to recreate it in your home today. And the best part? You need no more than a few basic craft supplies that you likely already have at home.

Ready to “build” these snow cones into miniature mountains of joy? Let’s get started!

Craft Supplies:

  • Small Paper Plate
  • Glue Stick or School Glue
  • Loose Craft Glitter
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Cone Printable – on our landing page
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – let’s make the snow cone! Take your glue stick and rub it all over the paper plate.
  • Now sprinkle loose craft glitter ALL over so it’s completely covered. Set aside for now.
  • Next grab your cone printout and cut it out.
  • Finally, you are going to staple the cone cutout to the snowball.
  • For added fun, add a handprint cutout to the cone so it looks like it’s being held.
  • Allow it to dry completely before displaying proudly for all to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
