It’s a super simple DIY that guarantees summer fun AND makes for a great keepsake as well! Come check out the Handprint Hermit Crab that is perfect for everyone to recreate during the June & July months!
Our “Handprint Hermit Crab” tutorial is a perfect summer project for kids. All you need is some cardstock paper, googly eyes, and a bit of imagination!
To recreate this art project, all you need to do is print out the provided “small seashell” file on cardstock paper. If desired, have kids color in ONE of the seashell designs. Then, when they are done, help them trim it out. Now grab a sheet of blue AND tan cardstock paper.
Help them tear the tan paper to make the “sand” in the craft. Glue it to the blue sheet.
Next up – grab a sheet of red cardstock paper and a pencil. Trace your child’s hand {left or right} on the paper. Now trim out the traced design. Glue it, along with the shell cutout, to the center of the beach design. Finally, draw on antennas and some googly eyes to complete the look of a hermit crab. For added fun, add a few squiggles of glitter glue to the shell and add some summer themed stickers around as well.
And that’s it! It’s honestly doesn’t get any easier than this! This handprint hermit crab keepsake craft can happen within minutes and I sure hope you & your little one give it a try this summer season!
