Popsicle Stick Holiday Dogs
These easy and festive popsicle stick dogs in sweaters are perfect for kids of all ages! No special crafting skills required.
Craft Supplies:
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
- Mini Popsicle Sticks}
- Low Temp Glue Gun
- Dark Brown Craft Paint
- Foam Paint Brush
- Small Paper Plate
- Dog Head Printable {ON BOX.COM}
- White Cardstock Paper
- Color Printer
- Paper Craft Scissors
- Brown Cardstock Paper
- Thick Craft Yarn
- Black Sharpie Marker

Directions:
- First things first – get the glue gun hot and ready.
- Assemble the base of your holiday dog by gluing THREE jumbo popsicle sticks and TWO mini popsicle sticks together to look like a fence door {3 next to each other and the mini popsicle sticks across to secure in place.}
- Allow it to dry completely. Repeat for each dog friend you want to make today. The free printable will allow you to make FOUR dogs at once.
- When the popsicle stick shape is dry enough to touch, grab your craft paint, paint brush and small paper plate.
- Squirt some craft paint on the paper plate.
- Paint the popsicle stick shape you just made, completely brown.
- Set it aside, again, to allow it dry completely.
- Now grab your brown cardstock, printed dog head printable, your Sharpie marker and scissors.
- Out of the brown cardstock, cut out two small, half circle paws for your dog.
- Use the black Sharpie marker to give the paws some dimension with some drawn on “claws.”
- Set those aside.
- Out of the dog printable, pick a head and cut it out.
- Go ahead and secure your paper pieces, in their designated spot, to your painted popsicle stick shape with the glue gun.
- Now grab your craft yarn and the glue gun again.
- Take one end of your yarn and hot glue it to the back of your popsicle stick dog body shape.
- Start wrapping the yarn SEVERAL times around the popsicle stick base, until you have the look you like.
- When ready, cut the yarn and use the hot glue gun again, to secure the loose end to the back of the popsicle stick base.
- Add any other embellishments you see fit. Maybe some small rhinestone details or a little dab of glitter glue!
- Then let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!
