Hi friends! I’m so excited to landed on our website for today’s Go Dog Dog! popsicle stick car tutorial!

Now friends… are you ready to fasten your crafty seat belts?!

Well good… because I want YOU to get ready for some EPIC fun with your child today because our craft stick car kid craft idea is not only a super easy DIY for the younger children but it’s also perfect to pair with a beloved children’s book out there, Go, Dog. Go! by P.D. Eastman.

Make your child’s day extra special with this Popsicle Stick Car tutorial inspired by P.D. Eastman’s book Go Dog Go!. Grab mini & jumbo popsicle sticks, craft paint and more!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 2 per craft
  • Small Circle Punch
  • Craft Paint {any color you like!}
  • Paint Brushes
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Scissors
  • White School Glue

Directions:

  • First things first – grab THREE jumbo popsicle sticks and TWO mini sized ones {this is per car you want to make today.}
  • Lay the three larger ones next to each other, one by one, on a flat surface.
  • Now grab your remaining other two popsicle sticks and glue them the other direction to create a fence {or a rectangle door shape if that makes better sense to you!}
  • Once all the popsicle sticks are glued together, set aside to let it all dry completely.
  • When the wood shape is dry enough, have children paint the front of their popsicle sticks however they like, while you cut out some wheels & other car features from the cardstock.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Car, glue the cardstock pieces in place as well as any other embellishments you see fit {think rhinestones, glitter, paper flames etc.}
  • Then display or play with proudly!

Here’s your checklist of supplies to bring this craft to life:

  • Craft Paint
  • 3 Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • 2 Mini Popsicle Sticks
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Paint Brushes
  • 1 Scissors
  • White School Glue

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!
