Showering You With Love – Valentine Cloud Craft

We are SHOWERING YOU WITH LOVE with today’s Paper Valentine Cloud kid craft tutorial!

Not only is a great DIY to complete together BUT your child can also GIFT their masterpiece to someone special in their life!

Showering You With Love - Valentine Cloud Craft

I’m showering you with so much love today. No really, I am. Thank you for visiting Glued To My Crafts today!

On that note, let’s get back on topic.

I’m showing you with love. It’s a basic catch phrase that sums up the Valentine’s Day holiday nicely. Don’t you think? You shower the people you love the most, with tons of affection on February 14th. Whether it’s a big gesture or small, this is the time we really let the people in our lives knows, we love them.

So there’s my reason behind this post. That catch phrase that we hear so often, is exactly what inspired my latest kid craft idea {but I’m also encouraging you to think of how great this particular tutorial is for adults to recreate, as well!}

If you would like to make this adorable paper valentine cloud craft with your young child today, just download the provided file in the supply list below, print it out on basic white cardstock and add small dots of glue on the marks, so they can add the small paper hearts as they like. This way the cloud “rains” love all over the paper, so it’s then perfect to “gift” to someone on Valentine’s Day. Easy peasy!

Sounds doable, right?! Well then… below you will find the full step-by-step tutorial, along with the free cloud printable that is the HEART of the craft. LITERALLY! Just download, print and recreate it today!

Craft Supplies:

  • Free Valentine Cloud Printable
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Color Printer
  • Colored Cardstock or Scrapbook Paper
  • Glue Stick or School Glue
  • Small Paper Heart Craft Punch
  • Pen/Marker
  • optional materials – glitter, rhinestones, small heart stickers

You can find ALL our favorite craft supplies via our AMAZON SHOP link!

Directions:

  • First things first – download and print the FREE cloud themed printable listed above, on one sheet of white cardstock. You only need one “Valentine Showering You With Love” printable per craft. Print as many as you like! Set aside.
  • Now grab your colored cardstock and small paper heart punch. Punch out a handful of hearts for your craft.
  • Next, with your choice of glue, make little dots of adhesive on the provided marks in the cloud printable.
  • One by one, place the small heart pieces on top of the glue dots you just made, until each spot is covered.
  • If desired {and for a full look} punch out more hearts and glue those on top of your design and all over the paper.
  • And that’s it! Add other embellishments you see fit and sign your name to your Paper Valentine Cloud Piece before displaying it proudly or gifting it to someone special.

Customize It:

  • Don’t have or want to use a paper heart punch for this craft? Grab some small pre-made heart stickers from any craft store and use those instead! The above steps are still the same but you might speed up the process.
  • You can also use a red or pink ink pad and instruct children to make fingerprint, together in a heart shape, on each mark instead. This is of course a more messy option but maybe a little more personal.
  • Another “messy” but fun option, is to have them hand draw small glitter glue hearts on each spot. If you are worried the glitter glue won’t be bold enough when it dries completely, have children sprinkle loose craft glitter on top of the wet design, for added sparkle.
  • And of course – you can always hand cut heart shapes from scrap paper as well. This is great if you want to throw in some fine motor skill practice into the craft.
  • Or skip everything I mentioned above and just have them hand draw hearts with crayons, markers or coloring pencils on each mark. The choice is yours!
