Fingerprint Christmas Lights Napkins

Our Fingerprint Christmas Lights Napkins tutorial is another great keepsake idea to make with your child this holiday season!

Whether you make it to keep it for yourself or to gift to someone special, we hope we inspire you with our latest kids craft tutorial on Glued To My Crafts!

Fuel your child’s creative side with a simple DIY craft that they can also gift to someone special this Christmas season! Did I mention it doesn’t cost a lot or take a lot of steps?

Craft Supplies:

  • White Cloth Napkins
  • Fabric Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Trash Bags/Newspapers

Directions:

  • First lay your napkins flat on some clean, trash bags or newspapers. This is especially important because the fabric paint will more than likely bleed through to the other side and you don’t want your pretty table to get messed up.
  • Using your black paint, draw squiggles and lines for the “Christmas Lights.”
  • Now squirt your remaining fabric paint on a paper plate.
  • Have children dip their fingers{or thumbs} into the fabric paint and onto the napkin, along the lines of the lights. Repeat until the napkin is covered in “Christmas lights.”
  • Use baby wipes to clean up their fingers.
  • If desired, you can take a small paint brush and do some touch-ups to give each “light” a more distinguished look.
  • Once done with the decorating of the napkins, let the fabric paint dry completely before using or storing your napkins.
  • Don’t forget to share some pictures with us your finished Fingerprint Christmas Light Napkins on your social media sites using #gluedtomycrafts

{I highly recommend hand washing the finished napkins, so they are good to go for years to come!}

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
