Paper Doughnut Craft Idea

Hi friends! I’m so glad you landed on our latest paper doughnut kid craft idea. I’m super proud and excited to be sharing it with you all today! We love donuts around here, so this is going to be a great addition to our archives!

Inspired by a book we recently picked up {Doughnuts for a Dragon – affiliate link} today I present to YOU our Colorful Doughnut kid craft idea w/free printable template!

George, a young explorer, longs to be a dragon-searching hero from long, long ago. So he climbs in his time machine with only a scooter, some cakes, and tasty doughnuts to aid him in his quest. When he arrives in long, long ago he spies a dragon straight away—or does he? This funny adventure story is a perfect rhyming picture book read for boys and girls.

This Colorful Paper Doughnut craft activity is super easy to make within minutes and it’s relatively inexpensive too. If you have a printer in your home – you are well on your way to pulling this together and having your child create a beautiful & custom piece that goes along perfectly with a great book!

In this post, I’ve included a FREE gender-neutral donut printable template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some embellishments and have your children add their own personal touch to complete the doughnut inspired craft. It’s so simple, you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

So let’s jump to it! Download the file below and get to work on creating this awesome doughnut themed craft. {Don’t forget to read the book either!} Whatever you do with today’s craft idea – I hope you enjoy doing it with your child!

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
