All you need is cardstock paper, a laminator, a marker and some fun shaped cookie cutters to make it come together within minutes!

Quick Cookie Cutter Matchup Game {Busy Bag Idea}

Cookie Cutter Matchup Game

Who can match up the cookie cutters the fastest?!

Lately I’ve been on a roll when it comes to making busy bag activities. I’ve seen so many ideas on Pinterest and I’ve been INSPIRED! {No really – I have about ten blog posts in the works to share with you all}

It doesn’t hurt that most of the ideas I have seen & made, have been on the cheap and easy side too.

I normally create my busy bag activities during naptime and they take me 30 minute tops to complete.

Then as soon as Lil Man wakes up, I introduce the new learning game and we play for about an hour with it. I’m also getting in the habit of changing the ones I keep out for daily play, so the fun doesn’t get “old” too fast. {I just need to figure out a better system on storing them all!}

And even though my son is only three, I’m always amazed when he figures something out without me even explaining it. I gave him this Cookie Cutter Matchup Game the other day and he instantly knew what to do. I might have to “challenge” him a bit and make a few new sheets with other cookie cutter shapes I have.

Here is how YOU can make this cookie cutter game for your toddler today:

The Directions:

  • Cut one piece of cardstock in half. {I cut it in half so it fit nicely in a large plastic baggie}
  • Now lay out your cookie cutter shapes on the two pieces. Figure out exactly where you want them to be.
  • Then one by one, trace them with a sharpie marker.
  • Now laminate your cardstock pieces.
  • To play the game, just have your child match up the cookie cutter shape to the matching space.
  • To store, place in a large plastic baggie. Once your child outgrows the game, throw away the laminated sheets and keep the cookie cutters.
