Mailed Kisses - Gift Idea To Send Spouses Far Away

Mailed Kisses – Gift Idea To Send Spouses Far Away

With this recent deployment – I’ve been trying to be creative with what I send my husband.

Since he gets fed pretty well where he is {sometimes I envy what he gets to eat!} I kinda have been “in a blah state” on what I can send him. To the point where I feel so discouraged because I feel like I have let him down by not sending all the care packages I originally planned.

All the bags of nuts I was sending him was starting to get expensive and boring. If he needs something like hygiene products or military gear, there is a BX there – so that cuts “me” the middle man out. And I didn’t want to send him a million knit-knacks because let’s face it – he’ll be home in a month & a half and he’ll have to mail it all back.

I know Joe doesn’t care that I haven’t sent him elaborate care packages. I know this.

But I still feel like I have to send something. Something to make his day and make him realize we care back home. So to spice up a letter I had for my airman, I decided to mail him some kisses.

If you would like to make these for someone special in your life, find all the details below! I really do hope I inspire you today to send someone you love, some POCKET KISSES!! Happy crafting and gifting my dear friends!

Mailed Kisses - Gift Idea To Send Spouses Far Away

A deployment craft idea for sending a sweet kiss to send your loved one far away!

Craft Supplies:

  • Laminating Machine
  • Laminating Sheets
  • White or Colored Cardstock Paper
  • Your Favorite Shade of Lipstick
  • Paper Scissors

Directions:

  • First you want to make several “kiss marks” or “kiss prints” on your cardstock. I found that it was easier to press the cardstock on a flat wall and in a sense, you just “kiss the wall” to get all the kiss stamps to look the same on paper. After making so many kiss stamps, I had really pink lips for hours. Just FYI 😉 Keep makeup wipes near by, because no doubt – the doorbell will ring while you do this craft. Least it did for me!
  • Next cut out your kisses from paper. At first I thought they wouldn’t turn out, but after cutting/shaping them – they started to look like kisses. Just make sure you are carefully when you are cutting them out and don’t smear the lipstick in the process.
  • The last step is to lay your kisses in a laminating sheet, run it through the laminator and cut them out again.
  • Then write a sweet letter to your husband and include the kisses. It doesn’t get any easier than that…and I’m sure you will make your husband blush!
  • Although my husband loved this little craft, I seriously can’t wait to give him the real thing!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
