Two sheets of paper show cat faces stamped with paint and a pool noodle. Each cat has googly eyes, drawn whiskers and ears, and a pom-pom nose. Markers and a pool noodle are nearby. @GLUEDTOMYCRAFTS is labeled at bottom.

Need a quick and colorful craft to share with your kids? You are in the right place! We love finding new ways to use everyday household items, and today, we are turning simple foam pool noodles into the absolute cutest stamped cats.

This process-art activity is incredibly easy to set up, making it perfect for parents, teachers, and caregivers. It allows little hands to practice their stamping skills while bringing adorable feline friends to life. Whether you pair this with a favorite cat-themed picture book or just want a rainy day activity, this craft is sure to bring a lot of smiles.

Materials You Will Need

To create your stamped cats, gather these simple supplies:

  • A foam pool noodle: Cut into circular slices about one or two inches thick.
  • Acrylic or washable kids’ paint: Blue, black, purple, or any fun colors you like!
  • Paper plates: To hold the paint.
  • Cardstock or heavy craft paper: As the base for your artwork.
  • Googly eyes: To give your cats a playful look.
  • Small paper circles or stickers: White, pink, or orange for the noses.
  • Markers: A fine point or chisel tip marker to draw the ears and whiskers.
  • School glue: Just in case your eyes and noses are not self-adhesive.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Paint Station
Squirt a generous amount of paint onto your paper plate. You want a nice, even puddle so the noodle stamp gets fully coated.

Step 2: Stamp Your Cat Heads
Hand your child a pool noodle slice. Have them dip the flat end of the noodle into the paint, pressing down gently so the whole circle gets covered. Next, stamp the painted noodle right onto the craft paper. Lift it straight up to reveal a perfect, textured circle! Repeat this step to make a whole family of cats.

Step 3: Add the Faces
Give the paint a few minutes to dry. Once the circles are less wet, it is time to bring the cats to life! Glue two googly eyes near the top of each stamped circle. Then, place your small sticker or paper circle right in the middle for a cute little nose.

Step 4: Draw the Details
Grab your marker to finish the look. Draw two simple triangle ears on the top of the stamped circle. Finally, draw three quick lines on each side of the nose to give your cat some bold whiskers.

Whether for fall or just because, PETE THE CAT is always fun!

The best part about this craft is that there is no wrong way to do it. Encourage your kids to mix paint colors, use wildly oversized googly eyes, or draw silly expressions on their cats. You can even cut out construction paper bodies or tails to add extra flair.

We hope you have a wonderful time making these adorable stamped cats. Grab those pool noodles and get crafting!
