Pool Noodle Stamped Bear Craft Idea

Three bear faces are stamped on gray paper using brown paint circles, black ears, and googly eyes. Craft supplies, including foam and stickers, are visible around the sheet. The image is watermarked @GLUETOMYCRAFTS.

Crafting with toddlers and preschoolers does not have to involve a massive mess or expensive supplies. Sometimes, the most common household items create the most memorable art projects. If you have a leftover pool noodle sitting in your garage and some basic craft supplies, you hold the ticket to an afternoon of creative fun.

This pool noodle stamped bear craft idea transforms a simple piece of foam into an adorable, textured animal face. Kids love the stamping process, and parents or educators will appreciate how quickly it comes together. By using a sliced pool noodle as a stamp, children can easily create the base of a bear face. Add a few black stickers and some googly eyes, and you have a finished masterpiece!

Materials Needed:

You only need a handful of basic craft supplies to bring these brown bears to life. Gather the following items before inviting your little ones to the craft table:

  • Construction Paper: This serves as the background canvas. You can use any color.
  • Brown Washable Paint: Choose a kid-safe, non-toxic tempera or acrylic paint.
  • A Pool Noodle Slice: Cut a one-inch thick slice from a standard pool noodle. This foam ring becomes your stamping tool.
  • A Paper Plate: Use this to hold the puddle of brown paint for easy dipping.
  • Black Circle Stickers: You will need these for the bear’s ears and nose. Standard office supply coding labels work perfectly.
  • Googly Eyes: Grab a handful of small plastic googly eyes.
  • School Glue: A basic liquid glue or glue stick to attach the eyes.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Prep Your Stamping Station

  • Squeeze a generous circle of brown washable paint onto your paper plate. Make sure the puddle of paint is wider than your pool noodle slice. Place your sheet of construction paper on a flat, washable surface.
  • Hand the pool noodle slice to your child and show them how to hold it by the edges.

Step 2: Stamp the Bear Faces

  • Instruct your child to press the flat side of the pool noodle slice firmly into the brown paint. Make sure the entire bottom ring gets coated evenly.
  • Next, have them press the painted noodle onto the construction paper. Lift it straight up to reveal a textured, brown ring.
  • Repeat this process two or three times on the same piece of paper to create a family of bears.

Step 3: Add the Ears and Nose

  • Once the brown paint dries a little bit, it is time to give the bears some features. Hand your child the sheet of black circle stickers. Ask them to place two stickers at the very top of each brown ring to represent the ears.
  • Then, have them place one black sticker right in the middle of the stamped ring to act as the bear’s snout or nose.

Step 4: Glue on the Googly Eyes

  • Every bear needs to see! Squeeze two small drops of glue onto the upper portion of the brown stamped ring, just below the ears.
  • Have your toddler carefully place a googly eye onto each drop of glue.

Step 5: Let It Dry and Display

  • Set the paper aside in a safe, flat spot so the paint and glue can dry completely.
  • Once dry, display the artwork proudly on your refrigerator, a classroom bulletin board, or a playroom art wall.
