Paper Plate Candy Corn Craft Idea For Fall

paper-plate-candy-corn-craft-gluedtomycrafts

Get ready for some simple Halloween fun with a craft that’s as sweet as the treat it’s based on! This paper plate candy corn project is perfect for little hands and requires just a few basic supplies you probably already have at home. It’s a wonderful way to spend an afternoon getting creative and making some festive decorations.

Using paint crayons makes this activity extra easy and much less messy than traditional paints. Let’s gather our supplies and make some adorable candy corn friends!

Materials Needed:

  • Large white paper plates
  • Kid-safe scissors
  • Yellow paint crayon
  • Orange paint crayon
  • Wiggle eyes
  • Black marker

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Cut the Plate: First, take one paper plate and cut it into four equal, triangular wedges. Each wedge will become a piece of candy corn. This is a great step for an adult to help with.
  2. Color the Bottom: Grab your yellow paint crayon and color the widest section of the paper plate triangle. This will be the bottom of your candy corn.
  3. Color the Middle: Next, use the orange paint crayon to color the middle section. Don’t worry about making the lines perfectly straight!
  4. Leave the Tip: Leave the top, pointed tip of the triangle white, just like a real piece of candy corn.
  5. Give it a Face: Now for the fun part! Use school glue to attach one or two wiggle eyes to the colored part of the plate.
  6. Add a Smile: Take your black marker and draw a happy smile underneath the eyes.
  7. Let it Dry: Set your finished candy corn craft aside to allow the glue and paint crayons to dry completely. Once dry, you can display your festive creations for everyone to see!
