Whether you’re crafting with kids, decorating for a fall party, or just looking for a relaxing DIY project, this tutorial will guide you through every step. Let’s bring some candy corn-inspired magic to your crafting table!

Materials Needed:

  • Paper plates {large, one per butterfly craft}
  • Wooden craft sticks (popsicle sticks)
  • Orange, yellow, and white paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Black marker
  • Embellishments

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Wings:

    • Take a paper plate and cut it into four equal quarter-circle sections.
    • Paint the inner edge of each quarter-circle orange, leaving the outer edge white.
    • Add yellow streaks or lines extending outward from the orange band to create a candy corn effect. Let the paint dry.
  2. Create the Body:

    • Use a wooden craft stick as the butterfly’s body.
    • Draw a simple smiley face near the top of the stick with a black marker.
    • Optionally, paint the craft stick in a light brown or orange shade for added color.
  3. Add Antennae:

    • Cut two small antenna pieces from cardstock paper.
    • Attach them to the top of the craft stick with glue.
  4. Assemble the Butterfly:

    • Arrange two quarter-circle pieces on each side of the craft stick to form the wings.
    • Glue the straight edges of the wings to the back of the craft stick, ensuring they are symmetrical.
  5. Decorate and Display:

    • Add googly eyes, stickers, or any other decorations to personalize your butterfly.
    • Allow the glue to dry completely before displaying/playing with proudly!
