Directions:
Follow these simple instructions to create the cutest Thanksgiving craft kids will love making:
- Begin by printing the two “Thankful Turkey” printables on sturdy white cardstock paper.
- Let your child’s creativity shine! Have them color the turkey and the individual feather shapes on the printable. Fall colors like brown, yellow, and orange work wonderfully for this step.
- Once the feathers are colored, it’s time for the most meaningful part. Using a black marker, help your child write down six things they are thankful for, with one item of gratitude written inside each feather.
- Carefully cut out each colored piece from the printables – the turkey body and all six feathers. At this point in time you should go ahead and trim out a nose, beak and legs from the remaining construction paper.
- Now, take your large paper plate and the paper feathers. Glue the “thankful” feathers all over the paper plate. Let your child decide where each one goes; there are no rules here!
- To complete your Paper Plate Gratitude Turkey, glue the turkey’s body cutout onto the center of the decorated paper plate. Then, add the “I’m thankful for…” cutout wherever you think it looks best. That’s all there is to it!
- Now you can display your finished craft proudly for everyone to see!
