Craft Supplies:
Before you begin, make sure you have everything you need for your Paint Splatter Smores art project:
- White Craft Paint
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Light Brown Cardstock Paper
- Dark Brown Cardstock Paper
- Scissors
- School Glue
- Large Wiggle Eyes {two per smore craft}
Directions:
Pro Tip: To contain the mess, place newspapers on your working surface before starting.
- Begin by folding your white cardstock paper in half horizontally (hamburger style). Once folded, open it back up.
- On one side of the black paper, apply some white craft paint. Avoid overloading a single spot; instead, create several lines or squiggles to evenly distribute a generous amount of paint.
- Fold the paper in half, gently pressing and smoothing it with your hands to spread the paint evenly across both sides. Be aware that some paint may ooze out from the edges, so have a workspace prepared for any mess.
- Carefully unfold the paper to reveal your unique paint splatter “marshmallow” design. Set it aside to dry.
- Now, gather the remaining pieces of cardstock and your scissors.
- Cut two long strips from the light brown cardstock to create the “graham crackers.”
- From the dark cardstock, cut out a piece to represent the “chocolate.”
- For the final step of this paint splat & paper s’mores craft, assemble your masterpiece by gluing the “graham cracker” strips, “chocolate,” and googly eyes onto the painted marshmallow design.
- Allow everything to dry completely before proudly displaying your delightful creation!
Pair It With a Snack: Serve real s’mores or campfire snacks while crafting for a tasty, thematic treat.
