Handprint Everlasting Mistletoe Ornament

Christmas is the perfect time for creativity, bonding, and making memories with your kids. What better way to kick off the holiday season than by creating a handprint everlasting mistletoe ornament?

This simple “handprint everlasting mistletoe” craft combines festive cheer with a keepsake you’ll treasure forever. Whether you’re decking the halls, gifting to family members, or simply keeping the kids entertained, this project is guaranteed to bring smiles all around.

Handprint Everlasting Mistletoe Ornament

The holiday season is all about warmth, family, and memories. And nothing embodies those values more than a handmade ornament created by your little ones.

Most of these materials can be found at home or in your local craft store. Gather the following before you start crafting: our free printable, scissors, a hole punch, pencil, contact paper, green/white cardstock paper, loose craft glitter, ribbon and of course, some festive embellishments

To complete this “everlasting green mistletoe” craft, the first thing you need to do is print our provided file, on a single sheet of WHITE cardstock paper. One print will give you EIGHT chances to do this craft {perfect for a daycare or classroom setting!} Go ahead and trim out ONE of the printed poems for your first ornament.

Next up is the handprint mistletoe. Simply trace and cut out your child’s hand out of green cardstock paper. “Seal” it forever by using two pieces of contact paper. For added fun, sprinkle loose craft glitter before adding the second sheet on top. Trim out the handprint design and add a hole punch hole at the top for easy hanging.

Then, finish it up with a little craft bow, some ribbon stung through the hole and of course, the poem on top. I added a little bit of glue to the back of mine but you can of course, change it up as well!

And that’s it! Children can of course add any other embellishments they see fit and then they will have a beautiful and sentimental piece to hang on the tree, year after year.

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
