Our newest “Patriotic Handprint Rainbow” tutorial is the perfect way to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July season! Craft red, white and blue memories with your kiddos that will last a lifetime!

Handprint Patriotic Rainbow Keepsake

Today’s 4th of July craft tutorial  is a delightful mix of color and creativity, while the thematic rainbow symbolizes the many facets and colors of the American spirit.

It’s a craft suitable for children of all ages (with varying degrees of adult supervision depending on age) and can be a fantastic way to spend quality time together, teaching about the significance of the holiday as you work!

Craft Supplies:

  • Rainbow Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper – 2 sheets
  • Paint Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick

Directions:

  • First print the free patriotic rainbow outline template listed above in the supply list. You only need ONE print out per rainbow craft.
  • Next grab your paint crayons and color in the rainbow design in the printable, however you like!
  • When done coloring, go ahead and use scissors to trim out the design.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Now grab your second sheet of white cardstock paper. Go ahead and trace/trim out two handprint cutouts.
  • To finish off the patriotic handprint rainbow craft, you will want to glue the two handprint white clouds {two on each side} at the end of the rainbow.
  • And that’s it! You can go ahead and add other embellishments you see fit or go straight to displaying it as is!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
