Winter crafting with the fam! Keep kids entertained during the cold season with this fun, easy winter village wreath craft idea. All you need is paper plates, cupcake liners and our free provided printable!

Winter Village Wreath Craft Idea For Kids

Get creative with your little ones during the cold months and craft your own paper plate winter village wreath – the perfect way to spread festive cheer in your home!!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate {any color}
  • Scissors
  • Cardstock Paper {any color – I used brown}
  • Large Village Printable – on box.com
  • Small Village Printable – on box.com
  • Large, White Cupcake Liners
  • Stapler
  • Glue
  • Ribbon
  • Stickers/Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – cut out the center of your paper plate, leaving a simple ring for the wreath.
  • Discard the center of the paper plate.
  • Next grab your white cupcake liners, stapler and scissors.
  • Flatten out three different stacks of cupcake liners.
  • Place one staple in the center of each stack and then use the scissors to make a fringe around the edge of each.
  • Go ahead and fluff them up with your fingers. This will be the “snow” in the craft.
  • Now grab your house printouts. Pick a few different house designs for your wreath.
  • If desired, color them in. Then trim each one out.
  • The final step is to secure everything in place on the paper plate. Start off with the three cupcake liner flowers and then the house designs on top.
  • Go ahead and also add your embellishments at this time.
  • For easy hanging, staple a simple “looped” bow on the back.
  • Then display proudly for all to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
