Paper Doily Bear Valentine's Day Cards

This Valentine’s Day, get your kids involved in a fun and easy craft activity they can feel proud of – paper doily bear cards!

For younger kids who are just starting to experiment with arts and crafts, making personalized cards for friends, family or classmates is a meaningful way to celebrate the holiday while fostering their creativity.

Using simple materials like construction paper, glue, googly eyes, and paper doilies, they can design and build their own adorable paper doily teddy bear cards in just a few steps.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Heart Doilies
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Adhesive
  • Scissors
  • Large Glue Dots
  • Heart Shaped Chocolates
  • Large Wiggle Eyes
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – use your tape runner to adhere your paper doily heart to the center of your cardstock paper. This is the bear’s head.
  • Grab your choice of colored cardstock paper and scissors.
  • Cut out TWO half circle ears and a nose piece.
  • Glue those in place on the heart shape.
  • Following that, use a large glue dot to add your heart chocolate to the center of their face.
  • Now take your wiggle eyes and adhere them on as well.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit and write a clever message around the design.
  • Finally – it’s time to give your Valentine’s Day bear card away!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
