Don’t let gloomy weather get you down! A rainy day is the perfect excuse to gather your craft supplies and create something wonderful indoors. This cupcake liner umbrella craft is a super simple and fun activity for kids. It uses common household items to make a colorful piece of art that celebrates the rain. Let’s turn those raindrops into a reason to get creative!
What You’ll Need:
- Colorful cupcake liners (any patterns or colors will do!)
- A sheet of construction paper (light blue is great for a sky)
- Glitter glue or regular school glue
- A black marker or crayon
- Fall-themed decorations like small leaf stickers or cut-outs (optional)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fold Your Umbrellas: Take a few cupcake liners and fold each one in half. These folded halves will become the tops of your umbrellas. You can make as many as you like!
- Glue Them Down: Arrange your folded cupcake liners on the sheet of construction paper. Once you like how they look, glue them into place. Make sure to leave some space below each one for the handles.
- Draw the Handles: Use your black marker or crayon to draw a “J” shape starting from the bottom of each cupcake liner. These will be the handles for your umbrellas.
- Make it Rain!: Now for the fun part! Use your glitter glue to add little raindrops all around your umbrellas. You can make them big or small, scattered all over the page. If you don’t have glitter glue, you can draw raindrops with a blue crayon or marker.
- Decorate and Personalize: If you have them, add some fall-themed stickers like leaves to your picture to give it a cozy, autumn feel. You can place them around the muffin cup umbrellas or make it look like they are blowing in the wind.
