Our latest popsicle stick craft tutorial combines a child’s handprint with the lovely message, “Home Is Where You Are,” creating a beautiful keepsake you’ll treasure for years. It’s an easy and meaningful activity for kids and a wonderful, personalized gift for parents, grandparents, or anyone who makes your house feel like a home.
Craft Supplies:
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks (5 per craft)
- Cardstock (various colors, including one for the handprint)
- School Glue
- Black Marker
- Scissors
- Small Heart Stickers
Directions:
- First, create the main structure of your house on your paper. Glue three popsicle sticks in a “U” shape to create your base of the house.
- Take two more popsicle sticks and glue them in a triangle formation on top of the “U.” This creates your roof. Let the glue dry completely before moving on.
- While the frame is drying, choose a piece of cardstock for the handprint. Trace your child’s hand and carefully cut it out.
- Glue the handprint cutout inside the popsicle stick house frame. You can position it in the center so the little fingers reach up towards the roof.
- Using your black marker, write “HOME IS” on the left side of the roof and “WHERE YOU ARE” on the right side.
- Now for the finishing touches! Place a glittery heart sticker or cutout in the palm of the handprint. You can also add smaller hearts around the handprint inside the house frame to fill it with extra love.
- Allow it to dry completely before you display and/or give it away!
