Halloween crafts don’t get much cuter (or easier) than this torn paper Frankenstein! It’s one of my favorite fall projects for little hands. It’s simple, it’s a little bit silly, and the finished monster looks adorable on the fridge or a classroom bulletin board.
The best part is that kids don’t need scissors or perfect cutting skills for this one. They just rip, tear, and stick! Preschoolers love tearing paper. It feels a little bit naughty in the best way, and it’s actually great for building fine motor skills. All that pinching and pulling strengthens the tiny hand muscles kids need later for holding pencils, using scissors, and buttoning coats.
I also paired this craft with a sweet keepsake saying, so it becomes more than just a Halloween art project. It’s a little memory that parents can tuck away and pull out for years to come. So on that note, let’s make a MONSTER!
Craft Supplies:
Creating your torn paper monster card doesn’t require a long list of supplies. Here’s what you’ll need:
- FRANKENSTEIN PRINTABLE – from box.com – password is GLUEDTOMYCRAFTS2026
- Cardstock Paper {any color}
- Green Construction Paper
- School Glue
- Googly Eyes
- Small Craft Jewels
- optional – glitter glue or Tulip puffy paint {for the stitching}
These materials are easy to find and likely already available in your home. If not, a quick trip to a craft store will set you up nicely.
Directions:
- First download and print the FREE stitched together with love card template listed above, on a single piece of cardstock paper. You will need to print ONE for each craft you want to do with your child.
- Now help your child cut/tear their second sheet of green paper into small pieces.
- Next grab the school glue and put a good amount of glue ALL over the inside of the monster design on the printable.
- Have children place their paper pieces on top of the glue {adding more if needed} until the “head” is completely covered.
- The final step is to add the googly eyes and embellishments to the center to finish off the monster’s face.
- Once done decorating, set aside to let it all dry completely before displaying/gifting proudly!
