Craft Supplies:

Here’s a list of materials you’ll need to gather before starting the “Five Reasons Why I Love Winter” craft:

  • Five Reasons Why I Love Winter Printable – on box.com
  • White Cardstock Paper {2 sheets!}
  • Light Blue Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Coloring Pencils or Markers
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • White Cotton Balls
  • Embellishments

Having everything ready beforehand will make the crafting process smooth and enjoyable for both kids and adults!

Directions:

This craft is not only fun but also encourages kids to reflect on what they enjoy about the season while creating a keepsake to cherish.

  • First, download and print the free template. Have your kids color five of the snowman hat shapes. We included an extra one just in case! Then, help them cut out each colored hat and the winter saying.
  • Next, help your kids trace their hand on a sheet of white cardstock and carefully cut it out. Set all the paper pieces aside for now.
  • Now it’s time to bring your snowman to life! Use markers to draw a unique face on the tip of each finger of the handprint cutout.
  • Glue the handprint cutout onto the center of your blue paper. Add a line of glue and cotton balls on the bottom of the handprint design, so it looks like it’s popping out of snow.
  • Then, arrange and glue the five decorated hats and the winter saying around the handprint.
  • In each hat shape, have your kids write down one reason why they love the winter season.
  • Let your completed craft dry completely. Once it’s ready, you can display your beautiful paper snowman keepsake or give it as a thoughtful gift.
  • Don’t forget to snap some pictures of your masterpiece and share them with us – we’d love to see your creativity in action!
