Torn Paper Campfire Craft Idea

Summer is the perfect time for crafting, and there’s nothing quite as cozy and nostalgic as a campfire craft. Whether you’re looking for a fun activity to entertain your kids or something creative for yourself, this torn paper craft idea is guaranteed to warm your heart.

With its vibrant colors and simple materials, the “You Warm My Heart” campfire card is a great way to celebrate summer and spread some love.

Craft Supplies:

The beauty of this project lies in its simplicity. You don’t need a huge list of supplies to create something stunning. Here’s what you’ll need to make your torn paper campfire card:

  • Orange Construction Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Poppy Flower Printable – on our landing page
  • School Glue
  • Red Glitter Glue
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {2 per craft}
  • Embellishments

Directions:

Before you begin, gather everything you need in one place. This makes crafting much smoother, especially when working with kids.

  • First things first – download and print out the FREE provided you warm my heart printable listed above, on a single piece of white cardstock paper.
  • Next up, help your child cut/tear their ORANGE construction paper into small pieces.
  • Now have them use school glue to glue those pieces inside the campfire design in the printable. Remind the kids that the goal isn’t perfection—it’s about having fun and creating something that’s entirely their own.
  • The final step is to have kids add their two popsicle stick “logs” as well as some glitter glue for some dimension.
  • Allow the paper piece to dry completely.
  • Once finished, these campfire masterpieces deserve the spotlight! If you’re in a classroom, dedicate a space on your bulletin board or wall to showcase the students’ work.
  • Be sure to also snap a photo and share it with the hashtag #GluedToMyCrafts or tag us to showcase their blooming artwork. We’d love to see what you create!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
