Torn Paper Mermaid Tail Craft Idea

Craft Supplies:

Here’s what you’ll need for your ripped paper mermaid craft:

  • “FIN-TASTIC” PRINTABLE – from our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Green Construction Paper
  • Blue Construction Paper
  • School Glue
  • Glitter Glue
  • Loose Craft Glitter
  • Embellishments

These materials are inexpensive and readily available. If you don’t have construction paper, feel free to use magazine pages, gift wrapping paper, or even old catalogs. Mix and match textures for extra fun!

Directions:

  • First download and print out the FREE you are fin-tastic printable listed above, on a single piece of white cardstock paper.
  • Next help your child cut/tear their GREEN construction paper into small pieces.
  • Grab the school glue and help them put a good amount inside the mermaid tail design.
  • Have children place their paper pieces on top of the glue {adding more if needed} until it’s is completely filled in.
  • Now grab the blue construction paper and help them tear off a small amount for the “water” in the craft.
  • Assist them on gluing those pieces, in a line, under their fin design.
  • The final step is to add a few squiggles of glitter glue {to give it dimension} and add a sprinkle of loose craft glitter for fun.
  • And just like that, your Torn Paper Mermaid Tail craft is complete! Set aside to let it all dry completely before displaying/gifting your child’s handmade fin-tastic card proudly!
