What’s black and white and hand-crafted all over? This DIY dalmatian keepsake made with your little one’s handprint!

Handprint Dalmatian Dog Keepsake

Hands down, the cutest dog keepsake around! Welcome to our latest blog post that will not only inspire your little ones but also create a lasting memory!

As parents, we all want to capture every moment and milestone of our children’s lives. From their first steps to their first day of school, these memories are irreplaceable. So why not add another precious keepsake to your collection with this adorable handprint Dalmatian dog craft idea for kids?

Handprint Dalmatian Dog Keepsake

Not only is it a fun and engaging activity for kids, but it also makes for a unique piece of art that you can cherish forever. The best part? It is simple and easy enough for any child to do with minimal adult assistance. So let’s get started on creating some paw-some memories together!

The first thing you need to do is print out the provided “mini dog head” file on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. Go ahead and trim out ONE head piece for now.

From there, you will also trace/cut out a handprint shape from another piece of white cardstock paper. Go ahead and now glue the head shape to the “thumb” in the cutout.

For the final steps – grab a black washable ink pad and add “spots” all over the assembled design. For safe keeping, use clear contact paper to “seal” the design together. Then add any other embellishments you see fit, as well as a hole punch & a piece of string for easy hanging if you choose.

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
