Using photos of smiling faces, cardstock paper, pipe cleaners and our provided free printable, this Valentine bee photo ornament craft allows budding artists to showcase their skills AND have a great piece to gift as well!

Better yet, the bee-shaped baubles make for adorable decorations when hung from hooks or taped to windows with pride!

So grab your supplies, round up your favorite photos and get ready to buzz into Valentine’s Day with a sweet handmade gift both you and your little honey bee will love!

Valentine Bee Photo Ornament Keepsake

Sweet as honey, busy as bees, this handmade Valentine is sure to please!

Craft Supplies:

  • Bee Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive
  • Contact Paper
  • Black Pipe Cleaner
  • Stapler
  • Single Hole Punch
  • Ribbon or String
  • Embellishments and Printed Picture

Directions:

  • First things first – grab the bee printable listed above in the supply list.
  • Print out the provided file on white cardstock paper. Go ahead and color in the bee design.
  • When done, use scissors to trim it out as well the small circle design.
  • Now grab your printed picture and trim it down so it fits inside the blank circle shape.
  • Next cut off two pieces that are bigger than your ornament.
  • Peel the backing off of one piece of contact paper and lay it down, sticky side up, on your work surface.
  • Lay the decorated bee cutout on top, as well as the photo cutout inside.
  • If desired, sprinkle some loose craft glitter on the craft.
  • Now peel the backing off the second piece of contact paper and lay it on top of the first.
  • Use your hand to make sure everything is sealed together and that no bubbles exist.
  • When ready, use scissors to trim off the excess contact paper from around the edges.
  • Finally – the embellishments! Bend, fold and staple the pipe cleaner “antennas” to the decorated piece.
  • Use the marker to write “bee mine” on the wings.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit. And that’s it!
  • Then display/gift away proudly your child’s beautiful Valentine’s Day ornament piece!
