GRAB THE ORNAMENT FILE FROM OUR LANDING PAGE
To complete this “baby footprint ornament garland” craft, the first thing you need to do is print out our FREE printable {listed above} on a single sheet of cardstock paper. It can be ANY color paper you like but I highly recommend white.
Next up, if you choose to, color in the five ornament designs with crayons or markers. When ready, add your child’s painted footprint in the center of each ornament design. Make sure you really wiggle each toe so the paint transfers completely. Wash excess paint off their foot and set aside the paper to let it dry completely.
Now for the assembling! Use your scissors to cut out each ornament shape from the printable. Grab some clear contact paper and cut off a large piece {about the size of a piece of paper.} Peel off the backing and lay it out flat on your working surface, sticky side up. Sprinkle some loose craft glitter all over the contact paper and lay your ornaments on top, with the footprints facing your work surface.
Cut off a second piece of contact paper that is the same size as the first. Peel off the backing and lay it on top of the first. Use your hand to make sure everything is sealed in before trimming out each piece.
Finally – use a single hole punch to add a hole on the top of each laminated ornament. When ready, go ahead and string all five together on a long piece of string. If desired, thread and tie off a pony bead on each end, so the ornaments don’t come off. Then display your beautiful, handmade piece of the tree!
