Let’s get crafty this Father’s Day! Kids can make this cute handprint lion keepsake for Dad to show how much they appreciate him! Nothing says love like a handmade gift.
Craft Supplies:
- Lion Printable – on our landing page
- White Cardstock Paper
- Color Printer
- Washable Yellow Craft Paint
- Foam Paint Brush
- Paper Plate
- Baby Wipes
- Orange Sharpie Marker
- Embellishments
Directions:
- First grab the FREE Lion Father’s Day printable above.
- Print it in color on white cardstock {it has to be white for the craft to really work!}
- Grab your yellow craft paint and paper plate.
- Squirt some paint on the paper plate.
- Pick a hand – any hand. Paint your child’s right hand completely yellow and press it in the center of the printable to create the body of the lion.
- Remove excess paint off of child’s hand with a baby wipe {or two.} Then wash hand at sink with soap and water.
- If desired, while the paint is still wet, add some glitter to the handprint for extra sparkle.
- Set aside to let it dry completely.
- Then with the orange marker, draw on a few strands of “hair” on the lion’s tail {coming from the thumb in the print}
- Add other embellishments you see fit, as well as having children sign the bottom. Then display/gift proudly!
