Hi my crafty friends! With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I figured I would share another SIMPLE keepsake idea that can be easily framed and turned into a gift on the fly. This Handprint Valentine Owl w/free printable template is super easy to make within minutes and it’s relatively inexpensive too!
Change up the colors and added materials to reflect personality and style, while still keeping the price on the cheap! We are talking CENTS to pull it together!

In this post, I’ve included a FREE Valentine themed owl printable template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some paint and have your children add their handprints to complete the craft. It’s so simple, you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

Craft Supplies:
- Valentine Keepsake Printable
- White Cardstock Paper
- Color Printer
- Washable Craft Paint
- Small Paper Plate
- Large, Foam Paint Brush
- Baby Wipes
- optional materials – loose craft glitter and scrapbook stickers
Directions:
- First print the free template printable on white cardstock paper. You only need one print per keepsake.
- Next squirt some paint on a paper plate.
- Dip the foam paint brush in the paint.
- Now pick a hand to start with- any hand!
- Paint the palm and fingers of your child’s hand & working quickly, press it on the printable, next to the owl’s body.
- Use baby wipes to remove excess paint.
- Repeat for the other hand/other side.
- Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
- If desired, add other embellishments you see fit {like glitter and scrapbook stickers!}
- Then display/gift away your Handprint Valentine Owl print proudly!
