It’s been awhile since I’ve shared a handmade card tutorial on the Glued To My Crafts blog, so here’s one to make up for it! I call it my Paper Scrap Owl Card tutorial and it’s a great way to use up those random pieces of paper you “might” be hoarding right now!
These DIY Paper Owl Cards are actually perfect for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday, as well as being perfect to give out all year long! Think birthdays, Mother’s Day, teacher appreciation – so many occasions to think of!
With just a few minutes of your time and a little creativity – you too can pull these together in no time with your child. You could even change up the colors to fit your style and/or special occasion. I promise you, these owl themed paper scrap cards don’t cost a fortune to make and they are super EASY too.

These Paper Scrap Owl Cards are perfect for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday, as well as being perfect to give out all year long!
Craft Supplies:
- Cardstock Paper
- Cardstock Cards
- Large Scallop Circle Punch
- Large Circle Punch
- Heart Paper Punch or Stickers
- Paper Craft Scissors
- Adhesive
Directions:
- First punch out your cardstock pieces and assemble the owl’s eyes. The scallop punch on the bottom and then the simple circle punch for the pupil.
- Next cut out a small triangle from orange cardstock for the owl’s nose.
- To finish and assemble your paper scrap owl card – simple glue on the eyes and nose on the notecards in the designated areas.
- Add small heart paper punches or stickers to the owl’s pupils to tie it all together.
- Then add a sweet message inside to mail or repeat this tutorial several times to gift a stack to friends & family!

For added flair, add customization like glitter, rhinestones or even stickers to really make it your own. Change up the colors of the owls eyes to match your occasion or style. Whatever you do – have fun making this owl craft today!!
