Dear Santa Keepsake Ornament

Have your little one create a special keepsake to cherish this holiday season! With our easy-peasy “Dear Santa” Ornament craft idea, they’ll have a beautiful letter waiting for Santa that will make memories for years to come!

Dear Santa Keepsake Ornament

Transform your child’s “letter to Santa” into a beautiful holiday keepsake that you can treasure for years to come. Read on for our step-by-step instructions and be amazed by what they’ll create with our wish list craft idea!

Craft Supplies:

  • Envelope Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Clear Contact Paper
  • Single Hole Punch
  • Ribbon or String
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – download the free envelope printable listed above in the supply list.
  • Print out the provided file on a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
  • Have children write a nice letter to Santa.
  • Then use scissors to trim it out. Set aside for now.
  • Out of the remaining two sheets of cardstock paper, cut out a handprint tree and attach it somewhere on the envelope {or skip this step all together!}
  • Next up – cut two equal sized piece of contact paper.
  • Peel the backing off of one piece of contact paper and lay it down, sticky side up, on your work surface.
  • Lay the envelope cutout on top.
  • Now peel the backing off the second piece of contact paper and lay it on top of the first.
  • Use your hand to make sure everything is sealed together and that no bubbles exist.
  • When ready, use scissors to trim off the excess contact paper from around the edges.
  • For the final touch, if desired, add sticker embellishments.
  • Then hold punch a hole at the top and string some string through it for easy hanging.
  • Then display/gift away proudly your child’s beautiful Christmas wish list ornament piece!
