Every year, we dedicate the first Sunday of September to honor our grandparents and all that they do for us. Grandparent’s Day is the perfect chance to reconnect with those special people in our lives, while also crafting a sweet memory they can keep.
Today’s craft is a fantastic activity to enjoy with young children at home or in a daycare setting. It not only provides hours of fun, but also results in a stunning personalized keepsake that is perfect to gift on Grandparent’s Day in September!
To begin this “if grandparents were apples” craft, start by printing out the provided file on a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
Next, have the children add their painted RED or GREEN handprint in the center of the paper. Allow the handprint to dry completely before drawing on the stem and leaf with markers. If desired, add on a smile as well.
And voila! Your handprint apple keepsake is complete! It’s as simple as that! Children can also add any additional embellishments they desire around the wreath design to make it even more special. Once finished, this unique and sentimental piece can be proudly displayed or given as a heartfelt gift!
We hope you find this “grandparent’s day apple” freebie from Glued To My Crafts useful! Happy crafting, my friends! #gluedtomycrafts
