Popsicle Stick Tic Tac Toe Game For Valentine’s Day
Sometimes the easiest and least expensive games are the best!
No matter how many times I’ve bought an expensive learning game or extensive play by play activity for my son, we always go back to the less than five minute stuff. We have a cabinet FULL of games but we always revert back to Uno, a matching game and Jenga. That’s it!
Plus I can’t tell how many times we have played “rock paper scissors” in the last week. After five rounds we declare a winner and he’s happy & moves on. Your child is probably the same way – am I right?
So guess what?! Today’s post is one of those “easy” games that is not going to break the break and I’m sure your child is going to love it too!
This three material crafty game idea can be easily stored in your home or even in your purse for some on-the-go fun! Think restaurants, waiting rooms, etc. All you need is jumbo popsicle sticks, some school glue and two different colors of buttons to complete the tic tac toe game.
When done playing {possibly forever} just throw away the craft stick formation and save the buttons for another craft. I would say this DIY will cost you a few cents but will create endless memories as you play with your child.
Another great thing? With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, this craft idea can also be made in multiples {on the cheap} and given away as classroom party gifts. Just find some cute plastic bags to place everything inside and gift away with ease!

THE SUPPLIES & HOW-TO!
Ready for the how-to?! Don’t blink because it’s that quick!
Again, I repeat – all you need is FOUR jumbo popsicle sticks, some school glue and TWO sets of four large craft buttons for each game.
Each set of buttons needs to have FOUR of the same color and shape. This will allow two people to play the traditional tic tac toe game and know what their pieces are.
Make it your own- this is completely optional but you can also use craft paint and small stickers for a custom look on your game. Just paint your wood craft pieces with the craft paint and allow to dry completely, before you do the next step of assembling the game.
As for the directions – simply glue your popsicle sticks together in a simple hashtag formation, making sure the center and all the squares are big enough for your button pieces. Set aside to let it dry completely.
Decorate if desired with glitter, stickers etc.
Then grab the buttons and play the game where you players try to get three in a row! That’s it! EASY PEASY!
