I’m ALL about thinking outside the box and this Pet Fish Rocks kid craft idea is just that! Craft time doesn’t have to involve popsicles sticks {although I love them} or expensive materials!
Inspired by summer and beautiful sunny Florida, here is our simple Pet Fish Rock Painting kid craft idea that even the littlest ones of the family can help create! The supplies are really inexpensive {especially if you hit up your local Dollar Tree or raid your own backyard for the rocks} and the rules are simple. Just let them paint and create one-of-a-kind fish friends!
Then once done – hide your child’s finished decorated fish rock pieces in your own backyard for a nice surprise to passing guests OR spread them around town to spread some “fishy” cheer! Whatever you do – I sure hope you have fun creating them with your child today!
Happy crafting my friends! Don’t forget to share pictures of your pet rock fish creations when you are done, on our Facebook page to see! #gluedtomycrafts

Pet Rock Fish Craft Supplies:
* Clean, Flat Rocks – any size, shape, store bought or even ones found in your own backyard!
* Craft Paint {all the colors you want!}
* Paint Brushes
* Small Paper Plate
* Small Wiggle Eyes
* Hot Glue Gun
* Craft Scissors
* Colored Cardstock
* Loose Craft Glitter
Directions:
* First place your rocks on a paper plate. Now have children paint the front of their rocks however they like! At this point in time, while the paint is still wet, have them sprinkle glitter on top as well.
* When they are done with that step, cut out cardstock fish features for each rock they are making.
* Get the glue gun hot and ready! Hot glue your cardstock pieces, along with the wiggle eyes onto the rock.
* Repeat for each rock. Then set aside to let it dry completely.
* Once dry – scatter your decorated fish rocks in your own front yard OR leave them in random places in town to spread some summer themed smiles!
