First things first - squirt your choice of color of craft paint on a small paper plate.

Place a LARGE paper plate in front of your child.

Have children decorate their single paper plate however they like with the paint you just put on the smaller plate! We went with a striped pattern {like the iconic peppermint candy look} but honestly, this part is a free-for-all!

Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.

Next grab your red or green cardstock, pencil and scissors.

Trace both your child's hands on the cardstock {a pair per paper plate} and trim out with scissors.

To finish off the Handprint Peppermint Christmas Candy craft - staple the cardstock handprints to the paper plate to create the "wrapper" of the candy.

Then add other embellishments you see fit before displaying proudly!!!
