First have children paint the "body" {the long part} of their wooden craft spoon whatever they like. This will be the clothing of the toy soldier.

Set aside to let it dry completely.

Repeat for each piece you want to make.

Now grab your cardstock.

Cut out some tall, beautiful hats to place on the head of the soldiers.

Set aside.

To finish off the Wooden Spoon Toy Soldiers - have children add embellishments to the spoon to give it life. Wiggle eyes, white beards and hair & of course - festive embellishments on their hats and body.

Once done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying/playing with proudly!!!
