Have children decorate the inside of their star printable however they like. I highly encourage the use of red and blue colors though!

Once done, use scissors to trim out the decorated star shape.

Discard excess paper.

Now grab your red and blue cardstock & the scissors again.

Cut out a few long stripes for the "firework" aspect of the craft. For mine, I did five stripes of paper per star.

Use your hands to fold each strip into an accordion design.

Now grab the stapler and all your folded paper pieces, along with the decorated star.

Staple the shooting star "beams" to the back of the star shape.

Finally - we are going to give our star some personality. Glue on the wiggle eyes and draw on a face.

And that's it! Add other embellishments you see fit to your Paper Patriotic Shooting Star before displaying it proudly for all to see!
