Wood Craft Stick Graduation Gnome Craft Idea

Today on Glued To My Crafts, I’m welcoming the GRADUATION SEASON with open arms, with our latest and greatest HANDPRINT BEARD GNOME craft idea!

I’ve taken our basic triangle gnome shaped design {that if you are a long time reader of ours, you have seen before – many times in different themes!} and made it absolutely PERFECT for the end of the school year season!

My favorite part is probably the cardstock GRADUATION CAP our new friends are sporting for the big day {which you will find for free in the provided file below!} BUT that adorable handprint beard cutout is a close second! I’m squealing inside at the thought of these being made with tiny kindergartners and the end results being displayed on a big bulletin board for everyone to admire on the big day. WOW! It seriously makes my crafty heart so happy to think of that!

Graduation Gnome Materials:

* Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {three per graduation gnome craft}
* School Glue
* Gray or Black Craft Paint
* Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
* Free Graduation Hat Printable {grab it from box.com}
* Color Printer
* White Cardstock Paper {two pieces}
* Black or Gray Scrapbook Paper
* Brown or Kraft Colored Cardstock Paper
* Kid Friendly Paper Craft Scissors

Directions:

* First things first – grab your three JUMBO popsicle sticks {three per graduation gnome} and either gray or black craft paint.
* Go ahead and paint each stick completely.
* When done painting, glue the three painted sticks together to look like a triangle shape.
* Set aside the triangle piece to let it dry completely.
* Repeat for each graduation inspired gnome you want to make today.
* While that is drying, grab all your paper sheets and scissors.
* Go ahead and color in one of the graduation cap designs with your choice of colored craft medium.
* Trim out the design afterwards.
* Next up – the remaining paper pieces to complete the craft. Cut out a large triangular shape, from the scrapbook paper, that will be placed within the popsicle stick design and be the body of the gnome.
* Out of the remaining pieces of cardstock paper, you want to cut out a handprint white beard, as well as a small oval shaped nose.
* To finish off the Popsicle Stick Graduation Gnome – go ahead and glue all your paper pieces in place, with some school glue on the popsicle stick shape. The larger triangle piece will go on the back of the popsicle stick shape, while all the other pieces go on the front.
* If desired, add other embellishments you see fit to complete the look.
* Once done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
