I still can’t believe it! We are LESS THAN 10 days away from Valentine’s Day. January took forever {in my opinion} but February is flying by. I feel like it’s coming on way too fast and I’m honestly not ready for it to be over {can you relate?}
If you are STILL looking for an easy art project idea to keep the kids busy in honor of the “lovestruck” holiday – look no further because I have another kid friendly craft tutorial for you today!
With our latest and greatest paper and doily love boat craft, all you need is a paper plate, craft paint, paper doilies and some paper scrap cardstock {really simple stuff!} The craft itself is super easy, really inexpensive and perfect for even young children to “build” with the help of an adult!
You could even just set up the framework for them and let their creativity go wild by pulling out the craft glitter, pom poms and even faux feathers. The possibilities are endless and I hope you SAIL away into an awesome craft adventure, with the help of Glued To My Crafts!
So my friends – you can find ALL the details you need to know, in the full tutorial below. Happy crafting and please don’t forget to share pictures of your child’s finished paper plate love sailboat with us on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram to see! #gluedtomycrafts

* Reserve one half for this craft {or use both if you like to make TWO sailboats!}
* Next grab your brown craft paint and foam paint brush.
* Put a small amount of paint on the paper plate and paint it completely brown.
* When done painting, set it aside to allow it to dry a bit.
* Next up – grab all your cardstock paper and scissors again.
* Out of the white – cut out THREE, small circles.
* Use the Sharpie marker to draw on lines to make them each look like windows.
* Now, out of the brown cardstock, cut out a long, thin rectangle piece for the center of the boat.
* Go ahead and take your paper heart doily and staple it to the brown piece to make the “sail” of the boat.
* Decorate your flag with stickers and/or other embellishments.
* Finally – to finish the Paper Plate Love Boat craft – simply staple and/or glue all your cardstock pieces to the painted paper plate piece. Ultimately the flag will go in the center, while the windows on the plate.
