Witch Hat Hot Air Balloon Craft Supplies:
- Craft Foam Witch Hats {one per hot air balloon craft}
- Mini Ghost Cutouts
- Paper Craft Scissors
- Brown Colored Cardstock Paper
- Black Sharpie Marker
- Single Hand Hole Punch
- School Glue or Stapler
- Yarn or Twine
- optional materials – scrap paper, Halloween stickers, glitter glue etc.
Directions:
- First things first – cut out a small basket shape for your hot air balloon from the brown paper. Make sure it’s slightly bigger than your ghost body sticker, so he can sit nicely in there but not any bigger than the craft foam witch hat shape.
- Use the black Sharpie marker to draw lines on the paper “basket” you just made and give it some dimension.
- Now grab your single craft foam witch hat and the single hole punch.
- Take the hole punch and punch two holes in the witch hat, as well as the basket cutout you just made, for where the strings will go.
- Before you start stringing things together, go ahead and secure your ghost piece inside the paper basket, on the back side with either some glue or a stapler.
- Now cut TWO long strands of string {about 6 inches, give or take} making sure they are both the same length.
- Go ahead and thread your string through the holes you made in all your pieces, to tie together the hot air balloon {just make sure not to pull too tight or your paper pieces might rip}
- Cut off excess string if need be.
- Go ahead and decorate the witch hat with various embellishments you see fit {maybe a nice paper band along the center and a sticker for a buckle.
- When done decorating, set it aside to allow it all to dry completely.
- Then display your witch hat hot air balloon piece proudly for all to see!
